I haven't used them yet, but I will.  I only have a small collection of pyrex and have never baked in it before!

It has been a hectic few weeks with Christmas preparations, parties and the end of the semester.  We only got our Christmas tree up on Monday and I adorned it with all the garage sale and thrift store ornaments I found over the year.

But the best part was when I looked closer....the crafter used an old CD to be the rigid base of the potholder.

My eyes were attracted by the bold 80s graphics, and as my hand cupped it, my brain wondered "is this Waechtersbach?"  It was!  And made in "W. Germany."  25 cents.  I have never seen this pattern before.  But I am really digging the primary colours and whimsical design!

I just bought the jar in the back for .50 cents last Sunday at the flea market, the Avon owl at a garage sale several weeks ago for $2, and the tin at a thrift shop in the lower mainland several months ago for $3.

Some Danish (?) salt and pepper shakers.  They are labelled A&amp;B on the bottom, but I couldn't find out anything about the maker in my cursory internet research. Anyone knows? Dana?  Regardless, I like them.

I love the Moosewood cookbooks. This is now my fourth.  In fact, I made potato Latkes and gingered beets this weekend from my Sundays at Moosewood book.

I spend a slim dime at a garage sale today for two dwarfs that emerged from German Kinder Surprises circa 1994. 


I love the surprise of what you can find at a garage sales.  And, I'm always surprised at what can be found on the internet.  I learned a lot about Kinder Surprise today after I got home with my dwarfish treasures.  Here are a few 'facts' that surprised me:
